The Alliance NewSpace France was founded in 2021 to unite French NewSpace players. With over 40 member companies, including startups and SMEs from the space sector across France, it ensures the industry’s representation before the government. The Alliance supports the development of the sector to nurture future players, enhance national competitiveness, and address sovereignty challenges in France and Europe.
CNES Connect by CNES unlocks the NewSpace potential for businesses!
The Connect by CNES program was launched to promote and expand the use of space technologies, with the ambitious goal of fostering a dynamic and competitive ecosystem. Since its inception, Connect by CNES has become a key player in the development of NewSpace in France—economically, environmentally, and socially. By partnering with competitiveness clusters, tech industry players, economic development agencies, ministries, regions, metropolitan areas, incubators, and accelerators, it integrates closely with the economic landscape.
Our hands-on program leverages CNES’s expertise and know-how to provide entrepreneurs with the technical support they need to utilize space-based solutions or develop groundbreaking technologies in both established and emerging markets.
This technological foundation is complemented by a dedicated support program for NewSpace industry players. It begins at the earliest stages of a project (ideation, access to our intellectual property, etc.), continues with business development initiatives (incubation, tailored funding, training, etc.), and extends to company growth and visibility (promotion, acceleration, international expansion support).
The NewSpace sector is experiencing rapid growth. To meet this surge in activity, we have enhanced our offering with targeted support initiatives, including:
Stronger actions to foster idea generation (monitoring, early-stage scouting, incubation pre-launch, etc.),
External expertise and regulatory consulting specific to NewSpace,
Increased focus on niche markets such as low Earth orbit commercialization, lunar economy, and space launchers/infrastructure,
The addition of new dedicated experts to our team for these segments.
Our goal? To continue propelling SpaceTech companies—and more broadly, French industry—to the forefront of the international stage while ensuring structured and sustainable growth.
Founded in 1908, the Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales (GIFAS) is a professional organization representing more than 460 companies—ranging from major prime contractors and system integrators to SMEs and startups. In 2022, GIFAS launched Start’Air, a club for aerospace and space startups, now comprising 60+ members.
GIFAS members form a cohesive, high-tech ecosystem, specializing in aerospace research, development, production, commercialization, and maintenance—spanning civil and military aviation, defense systems, and security solutions.
Every two years, GIFAS organizes the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, the world’s largest aerospace exhibition. The 55th edition will take place June 16-22, 2025.
To promote France and Europe’s space industry, GIFAS launched the SpaceEarth Initiative, a unified platform to strengthen industry appeal, drive research, and highlight space’s impact on daily life.
Tous les deux ans, le GIFAS organise le Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace de Paris-Le Bourget, première manifestation mondiale du genre. Le 55ème Salon aura lieu du 16 au 22 juin 2025.
De plus, afin de promouvoir et valoriser l’industrie spatiale franco-européenne auprès des décideurs et du grand public, le GIFAS a créé SpaceEarth Initiative. Pour la 1ère fois, les industriels de la filière spatiale française se réunissent pour parler d’une même voix, renforcer leur attractivité, encourager la recherche et mettre en lumière l’impact de l’espace dans le quotidien des citoyens.
